The loan process

1. Initial chat - goals, budget, borrowing capacity.
2. Lender comparison and recommendation.
3. Application and supporting documents.

5. Loan documents, then settlement.

Checklist of loan documents

• Photo ID (driver licence or passport) and a second form of ID
• Recent payslips (usually last 2) and employment details
• Last two years' tax returns and notices of assessment (if self-employed or other income)
• Bank statements (last 3 months) for all accounts, plus savings history
• Details of all debts - credit cards, personal and car loans, HECS/HELP
• Current loan statements (if refinancing) and rates notices
• Contract of sale or property details (if purchasing)
• Details of living expenses
